Well, he started out as a needly pillow thingy, but he turned out almost too cute to use him for that. 
He's basically made out of socks (body and inner workings of the heart).
(Update) On the picture he still needs his face paint, which I just have done. I think I'm going to add some details to his clothing as well. I just need to figure out how.
